WARWICK TOWNSHIP, Winter, 1798 - Creaking under heavy loads, soon the wagons will roll again across the meadow, splashing through French Creek toward Jacob Hager's mill. Uncounted sacks of corn wheat will be hoisted up through the wooden doors to be ground into cornmeal and flower. Schools of spawning fish will sometimes clog the huge wheel and turbines, bringing busy days to a halt.
The Creek and the mill await the Spring - like silent partners. But time will flow downstream like Spring rains, and one day the wagons will stop coming. The huge millstones will fall silent forever.....
